6 years have gone by here at Coy & Co. and with it has come many beautiful iterations of our standard Shop Vase. We generally only offer the one option because most of our customers are already overwhelmed with decision fatigue on the color palette to chose, haha! That and the environmental factors of keeping the production of new retail offerings to a minimum, of course. Our wonderful last ceramicist closed up shop and so we put out a call for a new friend to partner with! That’s when Lelu answered the call!! A bit different than our standard white vases we’ve offered in the past, but we’re positive you’ll love these special freckled locally made beauties just as much. PLUS look how cute the custom stamp is that she made for them?! Get yours through our online store to support not just our local small sustainable flower shop, but a local ceramicist with a heart of gold too!! :)
Redecorating for Spring? Check out ApartmentGuide's 20 Ways to Boost Happiness at Home this Spring!
Another amazing opportunity to share the world of sustainable flowers here in Portland! Apartment Guide asked us for our tips on how to boost happiness in your homes for spring and we didn’t hold back!
Here’s what we had to say: “Contact local flower farmers for 100% locally grown blooms; many offer fantastic subscriptions and CSA programs for a variety of stunning arrangements every week,” suggests Lynsea Coy, owner of Coy & Co., a sustainable florist in Portland, OR. “Avoid using floral foam or flowers treated with harmful chemicals like dyes, paints, bleaches, or preservatives, as they are detrimental to the environment and your health. The best way to keep your space alive is to pay tribute to the land you're occupying by celebrating those that honor and steward it carefully and sustainably.”
Coy & Co. on Why Venues Should Care About Sustainable Floristry
“Lynsea Coy, owner of Coy and Co breaks down sustainable floristry and dives specifically into sustainable floristry practices that wineries can adopt.”

“What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs in the community?
Ask questions! If you are trying to do something sustainably and are finding a lot of barriers, ask why. In our case, we had a hard time finding affordable, locally-made vases in the beginning until we started asking why. We cut out the middle-man (the wholesalers who were purchasing internationally imported products) and found a local ceramicist who custom makes all of our beautiful vases now. Find ways to shop local for everything you buy and sell and your community and customers will support you ten-fold.”

Why does Coy & Co. dedicate such a large chunk of their sales to different LGBTQIA+ Organizations and Charities during Pride Month?
Lynsea Coy, Founder of Coy & Co. was Ms. Junior Gay Pride of Portland 2013 and believes that philanthropy and stewardship goes beyond her time serving under this title and into any opportunity she has to support her community. Join her June 2021 for another round of PRIDE!

Portland's Sustainable Florist & COVID-19
You’ll notice things look a little different at the shop, too! We block the door with some pretty plants to keep a little distance between us all and you’ll also notice ourselves and our neighbors have boarded up our windows! This is to protect these spaces during this time, but we didn’t let that keep us from having a good time! Meet Abbie! Once a fellow flower lover, now a flower friend! We hired her to paint a mural on our boards to tell you all just how we feel: “All Day Missing You!” Thank you, Abbie, for helping us convey this message so beautifully and accurately!
Unprecedented times call for unprecedented measures! As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic that has struck our city and country, we offered free no-contact delivery for the first week of the “stay home, stay safe” protocol introduced by Governor Kate Brown. After an overwhelming response from you all we returned to charging for delivery again (at a reduced rate) to cover the carbon offsets we purchase to offset the gas we use in our delivery vehicle! Next, we opened our online store to make it easier for our community to order no-contact delivery and pick-up! Following CDC recommendations, we consistently wear fresh, clean, cloth masks, we wash our hands and surfaces consistently, and sanitize before and after every delivery. We’ve been having fun finding creative ways to avoid touching the surfaces at your delivery locations like leaving them in your beautiful mailboxes!
We’d like to thank everyone who has supported not only us but all of our small local growers who have lost their wedding and event work during this time. Until the Multnomah County has been approved for reopening we will continue to follow these protocols and do everything we can to continue to support the farmers we love! Shout out to Leah at Indigo Gardens for letting us come down and poke around your beautiful fields so often, we wouldn’t be where we are today without you.
