Where Do Your Flowers Come From?
Indigo Gardens PDX
Married couple, Leah and Ryan share a fascination and passion for the world of flora. They met as gardeners in the expansive landscapes of the Mcmenamin's Edgefield estate. They started their urban farm in 2013, with a focus of growing vegetables for their CSA community and restaurants. However, they now exclusively grow flowers and foliage for their design work and for florists throughout Portland. They are forever exploring the plant world and apply a sense of discovery to all aspects of their farm. When they are not elbow deep in the field or studio, they are visiting botanical gardens, tinkering in their kitchen or with musical instruments and likely thinking about plants.

Charles Little & Company
Bethany & Charles Little stress that the southern Willamette Valley is a horticultural paradise making it unnecessary and inappropriate to “beat the season” or otherwise try to control the forces of nature. The farm uses no plastic mulch. Instead, the rows are cultivated with a high clearance tractor and hand weeded by the farm crew. Founded on the very property still being farmed today, the farm now supports several local families with many of the employees having worked here for more than 10 years. Flower-farming is an intensive kind of agriculture, requiring highly skilled workers. During the growing season they employ 10 to 15 people.
The acreage is located at the foot of Mt. Pisgah, just a few miles from the Eugene city limits. With Buford Park and Mt. Pisgah Arboretum just across the river, picnickers and hikers drive past their fields, often stopping at their U-Pick facility. Their farm produces a great variety of beautiful flowers. But it also provides a sense of “rightness” for it’s owners, it’s staff, it’s visitors, and it’s customers. This is a good farm, and a good place.

Peterkort Roses
“Peterkort Roses is a family-owned cut flower growing business that’s been around since 1923, when our grandparents bought a small farm in the Portland, Oregon suburbs. Today we grow roses and other crops at a new location near Hillsboro, Oregon.
Our parents, Albert and Mary Anne Peterkort, raised all seven of us to help out with the family business. We are in partnership together, with two of us employed full time and several others performing part-time tasks such as bookkeeping, orchid raising, and selling at the flower market.
Our philosophy is to grow roses and other flowers that will please our customers, most of whom are local florists and wholesalers. We aim for great customer service and continuous improvement in our flowers, against a background of efficiency and conservation. We specialize in roses for florists, wedding flowers, and life occasions.”

Where Do Your Vases Come From?
Clay Factor Ceramics
Clay Factor is a Portland, Oregon based ceramic studio creating handmade porcelain wares for the home.
We are a boutique studio using entirely wheel thrown method for creating our work, from clay sourced locally in the Pacific Northwest and materials sourced in the west coast. We believe that objects have the capacity to enrich our daily living experience and elevate objects to a transformative experience of space making and rituals. To this end our work demonstrates focus on handmade precision based minimal lines, refined contours of form and controlled use of the clay's natural malleable qualities as an aesthetic driver.
About Founder Minu Oh
Minu found her path into clay as a college student in 2004, having explored multiple mediums ranging from woodworking, natural architecture, photography, digital media as well as traditional arts. The story goes that she half heartedly stumbled onto a wheel throwing class and never looked back.
An insatiable explorer and student at heart, Minu opened the doors to Clay Factor Ceramics in 2016 in order to create a sustainable ceramic business with quality, dependability, and artistic exploration as the main driving force. In addition to providing ceramic lovers with functional porcelain wares, approaching the clay medium as a form of play is still very much at the heart of her practice.
Minu might as well live in the studio since that's where she can be found every waking hour, but she is also a loving a mother to a Minecraft fanatic, a friend to few special folks, and loves to discover the natural landscapes of the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
